Tell us about your background
After working in insurance, I founded a fashion start-up that connected high net worth consumers with emerging brands — that business produced multi category trunk shows where consumers could discover new design talent. As a serial entrepreneur, I launched LTD to continue disrupting the luxury shopping space — with LTD I continue to discover small brands in emerging talent and featured them in experiential shopping events. I’ve always believed that shopping has to be a combination of discovering new things and having fun along the way.
Talk us through your career journey so far
The majority of my career has been entrepreneurial. I’m always seeking out new talent in all categories. I like brands that think outside the box and designers who have a unique vision without following trends. I admire and support emerging talent who can combine a new business idea with a new design idea and capture consumer interest.
Your daughter Mason is multi-talented, tell us about her journey following in your footsteps in the fashion industry.
Kids always reveal their talents when they’re young. Mason is an observer and a visual storyteller. Parents always love their children’s crayon drawings and I’m no different, I loved Mason’s because she would draw pictures that told stories so when she discovered her love of photography, I wasn’t surprised. I like to think she’s got my entrepreneurial spirit because her first year at college she founded an online magazine dedicated to photography.
What advice do you have for your daughter Mason?
Pack light. Be nice. Surround yourself with smart and curious people.
What are you most proud of?
Mason's ability to multitask. It's amazing to watch her fine tune her photography while working hard in school.
How do you style your Marfa Stance piece and why do you like the brand?
Marfa Stance makes the perfect outerwear for layering. I love wearing my Marfa with a T-shirt in the spring or a sweater in the fall — what I love most is that I can fine-tune my ability to wear a Marfa Stance jacket with a different collar or hood. Versatility and flexibility go a long way in my wardrobe.
