MAY 2025/THIRTIETH EDITION
This issue spotlights muses Penelope Tree and Anna K in our Summer in the City edit, celebrates Every Mother Counts, and highlights achievements from Lucy Delius, Deborah Brett, Teresa Tarmey, Megan Piper, and Mickalene Thomas.
OUR NEW MUSES
At Marfa Stance, we’re drawn to women who defy definition, rewrite their own narratives, and live with presence and purpose. Anna Klevhag and Penelope Tree are two such muses - not for who they were, but for who they continue to become.
Penelope Tree didn’t just model the 1960s - she defined them. With her haunting beauty and rebellious spirit, she became a symbol of the era’s counterculture. Today, in her seventies, she’s breaking moulds once more as a novelist, telling the story of a life lived boldly and truthfully.
Discovered in Sweden and catapulted to fame walking for Versace and Prada, Anna Klevhag — known in fashion circles as Anna K - stepped away from the spotlight to forge a quieter, more purposeful path. Now a certified life coach living in the English countryside, she mentors the next generation with rare candor and care.
Watch Penelope’s video here, and visit the Muse page to watch Anna’s.
Together, Penelope and Anna embody the Marfa ethos: ever-evolving, never settling, and unafraid to stand apart. Discover their Marfa in the city shoot on their dedicated page.

EVERY MOTHER COUNTS
Marfa Stance was proud to support and celebrate Every Mother Counts at their inspiring 15th Anniversary Celebration. We invited and were joined by friends of the brand, and honoured 15 years of vital work making pregnancy and childbirth safe and equitable for all. It was an evening full of heart, purpose, and community- and we are so proud to collaborate with EMC on limited-edition pieces in their signature orange, supporting their mission through conscious design and meaningful impact.
