APRIL 2025/TWENTY NINTH EDITION
Earlier this month, we spent the day at close friend of
the brands and Muse, Francesca Connolloy’s Brooklyn, NYC home.
A MORNING WITH MARFA STANCE
In an intimate setting, our founder Georgia met with inspiring creative talent and individuals, helping them to explore Marfa Stances modular, functional, reversible and versatile outerwear, styling pieces- both new and iconic- in ways that reflect their individual sensibilities.
SPOTLIGHT ON
Sophie Elgort, a New York-born photographer and director, captures the spirit of the morning - intelligent, creative muses expressing their personal style with both purpose and ease.
Known for her refined, narrative-driven approach to portraiture, Sophie excels at capturing inspiring individuals through an authentic lens. Her work aligns seamlessly with Marfa Stance's values of self-expression and thoughtful design. With an eye for understated elegance, Sophie’s portraits reflect the quiet power and personal style that define the Marfa Stance community. Below, you can see a selection of her portraits from the morning.
MARFA IN THE ARTS
While in NYC, Marfa Stance co-hosted an empowering evening with arts writer and women’s advocate Hall Rockefeller, founder of 'Less Than Half.' The event focused on the importance of investing in female artists and encouraging women to invest in art - a cause close to Marfa Stance's heart. It also provided a chance to reconnect with friends from the Mickalene Thomas collaboration earlier in the year.
The evening featured an insightful panel discussion with Hall Rockefeller and Georgia, moderated by arts journalist Laura van Straaten. The discussion emphasized supporting female artists, empowering women in art investment, and advocating for greater inclusion in the art world.
