LEGACY RUSSEL

We were lucky to meet Legacy Russell in New York City recently.  The Executive Director & Chief Curator of The Kitchen has curated ‘The New Bend’ exhibition at Hauser + Wirth.  Travelling from the galleries Downtown Los Angeles location to Somerset , it brings together 12 contemporary artists working in the raced, classed, and gendered traditions of quilting and textile practice, paying homage to, the contributions of the Gee’s Bend Alabama quilters.

FERREN GIPSON

Ferren Gipson is a British-American art historian, writer and textile artist.  She curated Within and Without which is currently at showing Unit London until April 6th.  The exhibition brings together 12 contemporary artists working within the historically gendered mediums of textiles and ceramics, and exploring powerful representations of our inner and outer worlds.  Her works also feature as part of ‘The New Bend' exhibition at Hauser + Wirth.

ALICE VINCENT

Our latest Marfa Muse, writer and gardener Alice Vincent has released her second book Why Women Grow: Stories of Soil, Sisterhood and Survival.  An exploration of why women turn to the earth, as gardeners, growers and custodians.

COLLAGERIE

The Art Shop is a new online gallery, set within the Collagerie platform, founded by Marfa Muses Lucinda Chambers and Serena Hood.  Curated to share the works of artist they admire, the first collection features limited edition prints by 15 female creatives.

Floral Studio East Olivia will soon be taking over a three-story retail space in the famous flower district in collaboration with Dream Loft Studios.  Expect colourful, fun and bold floral designs.
