TAKE US THROUGH YOUR JOURNEY. WHAT LED YOU TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
My career journey has beautiful elements of resilience, determination, and universal divinity. I have been in the fashion industry just about a decade working at places such as Opening Ceremony, Conde Nast, Net- A-Porter, and The Zoe Report through Styling. I have had so many different lives within my career, and truly honed in on my creativity and skillset to continue to propel me forward. My instincts and will power definitely helped me through the tough times, and my positivity + fun energy always keep my + my teams flame burning. I am proud of where I came from, but I am honestly still just beginning! The future I am excited for most!
WHAT MOMENT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR CAREER?
I am mostly proud of right now, a moment where I define who I am, where I want to go, and what partnerships and roles I take on. It is one of true creative freedom, and that makes me the most proud! Working on Solange’s film ‘When I get Home’ was pretty amazing too, especially because it was a manifestation imagined.
DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE. HOW DO YOU USE FASHION TO CELEBRATE YOUR CULTURE?
My style is vibrant, modern, with a touch of whimsicality. It’s really fun and really is just a quick look into how I am as a person. I stick to classic silhouettes but pair them with bold elements to relate them more to me. In relation to my culture, fashion is a journey through my life + my culture speaks through that as does my livelihood + history.
TALK TO US ABOUT ITS APT4. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO LAUNCH THIS PLATFORM?
It’s Apt 4 is my home decor platform that is dedicated to intentional living + honestly is my home diary of all the things I’m shopping, how I am being intentional on the items in my home, and ways I am enjoying home life, especially now. It’s definitely a slow platform that I take my time with and pour into when called. It’s a nice creative outlet, that I am excited to build more when the time comes.
HOW DO YOU STYLE YOUR MARFA STANCE PIECE?
I styled my Marfa Stance with pops of color + statement accessories. Pairing a bright orange top, snakeskin boots, and a navy EDAS bag, my outfit came together pretty effortlessly, and signed my personality through.
